Cookie policy
The small files this site uses, and how to manage them.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Related technologies such as local storage work in a similar way. This page explains which ones this site uses and why.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary. A small number of cookies are required for the site to work: remembering that you submitted a form, protecting forms against automated spam, and keeping you signed in if you have an account. These cannot be switched off.
Preferences. If you dismiss a notice or choose a setting, a cookie remembers that choice so you are not asked again.
Analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify or track individual visitors across other sites.
3. Third-party content
Some pages embed content from other services — for example a video, a map, or an audio player for an interview. Those services may set their own cookies when the content loads, governed by their own policies. We keep such embeds to a minimum.
4. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop forms from working. Instructions for common browsers are available from their makers.
5. Changes
We will update this page if the cookies we use change.
